Steel has long been the backbone that supports the framework of industrial and commercial buildings in the Houston area. The latest project the Myrex team has had the opportunity to work on is a new industrial development in Missouri City, Texas. Our team has been fabricating the structural steel for CityPark Building 5, which is the largest warehouse out of the seven-building development.

Project Overview

The structural steel for the 403,832-square-foot warehouse will support a tilt-wall concrete construction, 70 dock doors, and 4 drive-in doors. The warehouse will have 48’-9’’ x 52’ column spacing and 36’ clear height, creating a large, open warehouse space. Our team is fabricating 165 tons of steel for CityPark Building 5 and has been working with general contractor CC Burton to complete the project.

Structural Steel for Warehouses

This warehouse, like many modern warehouses, needs large, open spaces for equipment, such as forklifts and robotics. This warehouse also requires large, open doors for large trucks to pull up to be loaded. All of this requires a strong framework and support system. Structural steel enables the wide, open floor plans, high clear heights, and high volume of dock doors. Steel plays a vital role in constructing a warehouse that is low-maintenance and durable.
